There has been a debate going on for some time whether to feed babies with Glass Bottles or Plastic bottles.
Well the Glass bottles have been serving the needs of feeding babies for a very long time and then came along the Plastic bottle with new advancement in the plastic technology, so what is really wrong with the plastic bottles, main reason for concern is the about a man made chemical Bisphenol A, or BPA which is used in polycarbonate plastic out which baby most baby bottles are made off.
Bisphenol A, or BPA is said to have hormone like effects on the reproductive system, F.D.A. (Food and Drug Administration) says it is safe, but C.D.C (Centers for Disease Control) says tests on animals have shown hormone like effects on the reproductive system, and suggests more study should be done.
Now there is a trend also where more and more parents are turning to glass bottles and the main reason seen for that is “it is better to be safe than sorry.” keeping this trend in mind many manufactures have started production of glass bottles and same is with the stores more and more stores are now carrying Glass Baby Bottles.
Some pediatricians also now suggests parents to look for other kind of bottles apart from the glass bottles, and I think this might have to do as we mentioned earlier to be on the safe than sorry.
Dr. Brown started a glass version of their famous bottles in January, Evenflow has also noted that their glass bottles sales are up more than 100 percent from 2006-2007. Babylife which makes WeeGo baby bottle covered in a silicone sheet which protects the bottle from scratches and minor falls.

While the debate about the BPA continues, the step toward glass bottles has been growing, at least among some parents. “When I have next children, from the get-go I’ll start with the glass,” Sarita said. “It seems like a no-brainer to me now.”
